I will never forget my weekend in Paris. I’ve been once before when I was younger but this time it was different. There’s just something about Paris I love. Paris just sweeps me up in it’s magical entanglements. I think it fits the bill for almost any kind of traveler. Whether you want to relax, explore, shop… it’s all there, waiting for you.

How To Organise A Perfect Weekend To Paris

I love the challenge of trying to see Paris in a short amount of time, finding the very best places to stay and eat and things to do when I travel. It’s part of the fun really! You can do a lot in Paris in a weekend, you just need to know where to go and what to see.

On this occasion I travelled with Eurostar and I have to say it was so much better than flying. Not only was it cheaper, less waiting around but we arrived in Gare du Nord, which is Central Paris. It took 15-minutes to get to the hotel – The Westin Paris – Vendome. The first thing I noticed when checking in was how good the lobby smelt…. I had to ask the receptionist what it was because it was such a beautiful scent – It’s called the White Tea Scent Diffuser and I purchased it as soon as I got back to the UK. The Westin Paris-Vendome is an elegant property, and has a central location just a three-minute walk to the Place Vendome. The location is great, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Louvre Museum, 20 minute metro ride to Notre Dame is a 20-minute metro ride and a 10 minute taxi ride to The Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend taking the Paris metro. It’s easier and less expensive than a taxi.

DAY 1 IN PARIS

Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is the most visited museum in the world. You’ll find some of the most iconic pieces of art in history. From Leanardo Da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa to the famous Venus de Milo statue! The Louvre is a massive building, so expect to be there for a few hours at least.

Kong Restuarant

Kong is a super trendy restaurant bar on the top two floors of the LVMH building. It’s a unique restaurant with beautiful views with a glass domed roof. If you’re into your Asian fusion dishes then I would definitely check it out.

DAY 2 IN PARIS

Champs-Élysée

Everybody knows the Champs Élysées, whether they’ve visited Paris or not. It is probably one of the most famous roads in the world and a must see for anybody visiting Paris. It runs from the Arc de Triomphe down to the Place de la Concorde.

The Arc de Triomphe is one of those iconic monuments of Paris, and once you reach the top you can enjoy the beautiful view of the avenue stretching out beneath your feet.

In this part of Paris, you can easily find what you’re looking for when it comes to shopping. This is where you’ll find the major brands and luxury boutiques. Most of these stores are open late into the evening and every day of the week.  The Louis Vuitton Champs-Elysées store is beautiful, with its impressive architecture, like many of the other stores you’ll come across. There are also some great places to stop off for a bite to eat.

Enjoying a few macaroons or breakfast at Ladurée

Whether it’s for breakfast or just a snack, you cannot leave the neighbourhood without making a stop here. When you enter the store, you are plunged into a world of pastel colours where everything is sophistication. From their desserts to the decoration, everything is beautiful at Ladurée!

Notre Dame

One of the biggest items on my travel to-do list was to visit Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. I had heard how beautiful it was inside and so couldn’t wait to see it in person. It did not disappoint.

Montmartre

With its narrow cobbled lanes, secret passageways, and centuries-old houses, there’s a reason that the 18th arrondissement makes it to the top of everyone’s Paris bucket list.

Sacré-Coeur Basilica

First of all, thanks to its status as one of the tops must-sees in Paris, the place can get pretty crowded pretty quickly. If you want to beat the crowds, then be sure to head there earlier in the day, and mid-week if possible. For the best view of the city, you simply need to climb to the top of the dome! 

DAY 3 IN PARIS

Angelina’s 

I was lucky as this was just around the corner from my hotel. You’ll spot it from the queue snaking along the ivory brickwork; a queue that you’ll understand as soon as you see the patisserie in the window. If you haven’t heard of Angelina’s, it is known for known for delicious hot chocolate. I pretty much haven’t stopped thinking about it. It is pure liquid indulgence, served in a jug with individual portions of thick cream to top it with, and worthy of stopping conversation so you can give it the attention it deserves. The breakfast was average but I would definitely go back just for the hot chocolate.

Nose – Create your own fragrance

If you’re into your fragrances like me then check this place out. Nose is a beautiful boutique in the heart of Paris. the concept is really good, it establishes your olfactive diagnostic to determine the fragrances that would suit you the most (based on what you like, what you have already worn, etc.) to help you find your perfect perfume. It was definitely a cool experience and I ended up buying a new fragrance which I adore.

Restaurant Ciel de Paris

If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant with great views and good food this is the place to visit.

Eiffel Tower

We didn’t book tickets beforehand and had to wait hours in the queue, which in the rain wasn’t a great idea. So I would suggest you buy your tickets in advance. It’s a bit of a cliche I know ,but we couldn’t very well take a trip to Paris and not visit the Eiffel Tower, could we? We took the lift the whole way because of the weather but you do have the option to take the stairs if you are feeling brave.

We went in the evening as I thought the views would be pretty special. As soon as we got to the top, it was freezing cold and windy but it was definitely worth it – the views were beautiful.
